The Big Challenge...

The Tay Foundation is looking for a major sponsor who can help us develop the river system to its full potential over a ten year period.
Loch Tay Freshwater Fish Study Project
In 2000 the Tay Foundation supported a study into the fish community at the western end of Loch Tay.
This study had been prompted because of local observations that a new species, roach, had arrived in the Loch and that numbers of pike were also thought to have increased.
The study confirmed that roach had become abundant and that they were a major component of the diet of pike in the area.

At the point where the River Dochart enters Loch Tay the fish community has radically changed in recent years with the arrival of a new species, roach. |
